Meloja 2 kajakki (EPP2 kayak) competency test
This competency test fulfills the content recommendations and instructions from the Finnish Canoeing and Rowing Federation. In this competency test the candidate’s basic skills are tested. The candidate should be able to move the kayak in desired direction, and also adjust the paddling technique to the paddling. The candidate should be able to act calmly also after capsizing. The competency test should be performed during a tour, for at least 2 hours and 4 km.
All tested skills are assessed as pass / fail. All the tested skills have to be passed. If the candidate has successfully performed the competency test according to the recommendations and instructions of the Finnish Canoeing and Rowing Federation, he/ she receives a Meloja 2 card (plastic card) as proof of having passed the Meloja 2 kajakki (EPP2 kayak) competency test.
EPP (Euro Paddle Pass) is a standard for 5-step competency test being established in Europe.
Degree of difficulty: Intermediate
Requirements: Able to swim 200 meters and 15 years old. If you are under 18 years of age, you need an adult responsible for you to participate in the same paddling activity as you.

Course length: 2-3 hours
Price: 50 eur (Loppi); 70 eur (Helsinki, Espoo)
Additional fee: 15 eur, Meloja 2 card and registration with the Finnish Canoeing and Rowing Federation (this additional fee can be paid after having past the test)
